You think you know me
Simply because you know I'm a homosexual?
You don't.
You think because you know
One simple thing about me
That you know all there is to know.
You don't.
I'm more than a homosexual.
I'm a father.
I'm a husband.
I'm a patriot.
I'm a community leader.
I'm a mentor.
I'm many things.
You proceed from false assumptions,
Simply because you know one thing about me.
You judge and convict me on the grounds,
Of my sexuality.
You don't know me,
You never have,
You never will,
Not until you've walked a mile in my shoes.
You can't even begin to understand,
The life I've lived.
You don't know the truth behind
What you see.
Your mind is a closed,
Hate filled, sphere feeding on it's own spite.
You'll never know the real me
Yet you categorize, compartmentalize,
You stereotype me for something
I have no control over.
You hate and fear me,
Because I dare to stand up for myself.
You revile me and call me sinner
Because I celebrate who I truly am,
Who God created me to be.
You don't know me.
You'll never understand,
Not until you've walked a mile in my shoes.
Your words ring true. Now if those who can't understand or just choose to bury their heads in the sand could read this, Maybe, Just maybe they would know that love is love. No matter the sexual orientation. love knows no barriers.
*Stands up and Claps!*
Advice, please? You seem really smart and know what you're doing. ;_;
thankyou. youareawesome.
I am not. :'D
But I agree totally with your basic statement. To my mind it doesn't matter why there's suffering but how to end it.
